A little about Me!
My name is Kylie Salzler.

I’m interested in playing basketball at the collegiate level, a goal I’ve been working towards since I was 9 years old. Basketball is my love and passion. I’m versatile and athletic, with a high basketball IQ; I see the floor and make plays for myself and my teammates.  I can score from anywhere on the court which you can see in my highlight videos. My specialty is my numerous, (159+) super quick release, and often deep (2-5 feet behind the arc) three pointers. Additionally, I impact the game defensively with my innate ability to box out and rebound the ball, as well as getting steals & deflections.

I’m a starting guard on the Varsity team at Rancho Buena Vista High School in Vista, California where we had a great season. We went undefeated in our league and I had a 32 point game with 7 made three’s, which helped me earn a 1st Team All League award. We also made it all the way to the semifinals in our 2024 CIF San Diego playoffs. Additionally, we won our holiday tournament undefeated (4-0) and I earned a Player of the game award for scoring 25 points. I was also honored to have won the tournament MVP for helping my team win our final Championship game and was recognized for my efforts in the San Diego Union-Tribune. This season ended with me having made 84 total three pointers, which surpassed my previous record of 75 made last year. Having made 84 three pointers ranks me 1st in San Diego, 6th in CA and 39th in the Nation for the class of 2025.

In my Sophomore season, I earned All League recognition, along with an Offensive Player of the Year Award. I ranked 5th in the nation for averaging 3.8 three pointers per game (Class of 2025). I was the #1 three point shooter in San Diego & 4th in the entire state of CA for the Class of 2025, with 75 three pointers made for the season.

Some of my Career High’s:
* 3 games scored 34, 32, and 30 points
* 9 -3 pointers made (9/13) at 69% in 1 Game
* 10 games (10/50) with 5 or more 3 pointers
* 2 games 4/5 -3PM shooting at 80%
* 19 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 1 block
* 14 rebounds in 2 games & 13 in another
* 4 Double doubles

In the classroom, I have earned a 4.33 GPA, along with a Scholar Athlete Award. I am a member of the National Honors Society, California Scholarship Federation, and participate in the Just Serve Club in giving back to my community. Previously, I attended El Camino High School where I was in the MCJROTC program and earned the American Legion Scholastic Achievement Award and was promoted twice as a Freshman for my strong leadership skills. I also played on the Division 1 Varsity basketball team and played all Varsity games except 3 due to having COVID. We made it to the semi-finals Open Division, competing against top nationally ranked teams. Our record at El Camino was 21-5 and we won our league undefeated, 10-0.

I’m originally from Maryland where I developed my foundation of basketball starting at age 8. I’ve been competing in travel AAU teams since 5th grade (playing up 2 years on most teams). Part of what strengthened and advanced my development early on was due to playing on a co-ed team. Practicing and training with the boys and scrimmaging against them exposed me to the aggressive and physical side of basketball and forced me to push my limits. In middle school I helped lead our team to the semifinals each year & I was an All Star in 6th & 7th grade beating out 8th graders. A few years ago my family and I moved to the west coast where I was trained to play a faster pace of basketball. Exposure to both east and west coast methodologies have helped me become the well-rounded player I am today.

I’ve been described by numerous coaches as being an exciting “sharp shooter” that has a high basketball IQ. Most importantly though I’m a versatile TEAM player driven to succeed but is also extremely dedicated to constantly helping my teammates improve as well.

I’d love for you to check out some of my videos. I’ve attached a full game with 3 parts; 1) Hudl highlight, 2) a longer full game highlight of offense and defense, 3) the entire full game. Also there are two general highlight videos. Additionally, two videos from my Cal Sparks club team (offense & defense) are attached. Lastly is a highlight video from the SoCal Holiday Prep Classic tournament that we won undefeated.

It would be great to talk with you to learn more about your program and discuss how I could be a strong asset and fit with your team.
